Volvo 960 transmission problem

Hello, I have a Volvo 960-1994, with automatic transmission-AW30-43 and I need a help. I've got this problem: On the road transmission fluid suddenly drained and the car stopped. After going to the service and disengaging transmission, it was found that Torque converter has broken piece from the axe and opposite one of two nipples on the oil pump gearings is torn away. After the service repaired torque converter and put another oil pump, the car was driving till our garage (6km). In the evening, the car started, but was not moving forward. We found, it is moving only backwards and this way we took it out of the garage. Any ideas what could solve the problem? Thanks for your replies.

First thing to check seeing you have just had work done on the transmission is the fluid level. Engine up to temperature, move through all the gears then check the level after cleaning the dipstick.

Popular fault is the PNP switch. Do a search for it

Hi what milage has car/gearbox done the total loss of fluid could have commenced damage to electronic unit inside box particularly as trauma of torque convertor/pump failure (I have currently rebuilt two of these boxes):) mechanically they are sturdy, but electronic unit inside can be damaged quite easily ie:loss of fluid/drive ,contamination of fluid ,overheating ,excess towing load.
