Putting badges on!

Hello, I have an ex police car and I'm adding a personal touch to it by putting the aluminiun badges on the back. I have serached and found out how to remove them but any tip's on putting them on? I guy down the pub told me the car must be facing west and I must stand on one leg whilst applying them...... Any truth in this? ;-)

It would depend which side of Glasgow the owner is from...some believe you have to shroud the car in smoke and ring a bell whilst sticking them on :)

afixing badges 

heat the area with a hair dryer,apply the badge to the surface which should have previously cleaned, apply pressure, and all should be well
